向來給人高道德標準形象的台南市長賴清德，多次怒指涉入議員、議長選舉雙重賄選的李全教「玷汙台南」，但當他被捲入賴美惠競選議長賄選案，成為「選他字案被告」時，雖以李全教亂咬、誣告為自己辯白，還稱真金不怕火煉，但給人的感覺不只理不直，氣不壯，反而多了吹口哨壯膽之感。
政治人物多少都要靠包裝，賴清德在去年12月25日以前，政壇之路一路平步青雲，連半點波折都沒有，是罕見的「天公仔子」；幕僚更善盡化妝師之責，從料颱風神準到天亮獨自一人吃羊肉湯、高鐵救人，屢次攻占媒體重要版面，讓「賴神」之名不脛而走。
既為神，自然與人有距離，拿拂塵走雲端，哪裡知道過去視為舉手部隊的市議會，早已醞釀反賴勢力？李全教借力使力在議長選舉中逆轉勝，賴清德強悍指摘李全教玷汙台南的同時，由他力挺的民進黨議長人選卻也被告發在議長選舉中賄選。賴清德堅稱拒進議會，是為捍衛台南的尊嚴，其實明眼人都知，不過就是捍衛自己的面子。
從拒進議會之初占上風，到近期被監委約詢、日前鬆口若李全教願意向社會道歉，就「委曲求全，考慮進議會」，再到昨天由南檢證實成為「選他字案被告」，賴清德先是錯估李全教能耐；再者，他擅用的「道德牌」也漸失靈，李全教、賴美惠涉案，自待司法審判，但賴此時若再打道德牌，恐怕也只剩鍍金的純度。曾是政壇天之驕子的他，享盡光環與掌聲的同時，卻忘了自己也是平凡的政治人。
